The Niger State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has commenced moves to expel the former deputy governor and former Ambassador to South Africa, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Ibeto from the party over alleged anti-party activities.
Other members due to be excommunicated from the party include the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Nasara Dan- Malam as well as the chairman of Magama local government, Abubakar Sadiq Maidoya.
The State Party Chairman, Engr. Mohammad Jibrin Imam made the revelation at the party secretariat in Minna when he received a delegation of wards and local government party executives from Magama council area of the state
The delegation presented letters of petitions and demanded that the former Ambassador alongside four others be ejected from the APC over allegations of anti-party activities
Presenting the petition against the former deputy governor and four others, former party members, the chairman of Ibeto ward, Danlami Mohammad, who presented the letter of expulsion of Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto accused him of being involved in various anti-party activities that resulted in the removal of the local government chairman, Salihu Ubandoma of APC recently.
He said, ” the expulsion letter was signed by twenty-one ward executives and has been forwarded to the state secretariat for ratification and endorsement. They are no longer party members because they acted contrary to the party constitution.”
The councils’ party Treasurer, Awwalu Sale presenting, the expulsion letter of the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Nasara Dan- Malam who is from Kura ward explained that Nasara gave open support to the PDP candidate Safiyanu Yahaya that led to the removal of the council chairman.
He stated that the commissioner allegedly worked against the APC to avenge the party’s refusal to nominate him as the candidate for the recent House of Representative bye-election for Magama/Rijau Federal constituency.
Also, the council party youth leader, Muktar Dantani presented a signed petition against the APC council chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Maidoya saying, he refused to stand for the party at the time his efforts were needed hence his anti-party activities.
Receiving the letters, the State Party Chairman, Engr. Mohammad Jibrin Imam thanked them for their peaceful conducts while rejecting the petition against the Attorney General, Barrister Nasara Dan- Malam over lack of due process.
Imam then assured that a committee would be set up by the state party to look into the allegations and anyone found guilty will face the wrath of the law.
